Any idea what this "Abrafract Formulations V1.1" module sold with this HP-41CX on TAS is for? Something to do with abrasives, I think.

There is was an Abrafract Manufacturing Ltd dealing in abrasives & abrasive material, especially abrasive foam grinding. Possible

Yes, they seemed to be from my neck of the woods, but ceased operations around 2004 or so.

If a forum member acquires this I would greatly appreciate a copy of the rom image.
Very nice pics but unfortunately none from the battery contacts - the Achilles heel of the design (that and the screw post of course). Also it's a Half-Nut model, not compatible for CL-Board installation, duh...

Yes, I don't know if the seller is playing the ignorance card there. "Untested as don't know how to." Try sticking some batteries in it, mate. It looks well cared for on the outside though.
I'll try to get the unit and will share the image to all foum members for free
The label on the back side is largen than usually. Might be a programmed ZEPROM..... we will see.
So, to keep my promise: Here is the image of the module I bought at the auction. Thanks to Angel for copying.

Thanks to both of you for making yet another obscure 41 ROM available to the community. Has anyone figured out what the heck this ROM is for?

Sliderule and ijabott mentioned the ABRAFRACT Ltd. in the UK as publisher, related to Abrasive Formulations. So I gather it should be chemical engineering, perhaps formulations or reaction kinetics for adhesives et. al?

Inspecting the program listings doesn't really add much details. There are text strings like:

"ET TRIAL WT"
"BUB, V,ONLY"
"NORZON"
"ET R THICK,D"
"ET SHAPE NO"
"ET LGTH"
"ET WDTH"
"ET HGHT"
"M/S OR R.P.M"

"ET" is a re-occurring pattern, your guess is as good as (or better than) mine ..

It features the automatic assignment of several programs upon the CALC_ON event, pretty typical to this kind of modules (probably it was a standard option in the HP contract)

NORZON is a composite abrasive in grinding wheels, often used in but not restricted to machining & foundry operations, hence the R.P.M. reference?

"When much of historic Gainsborough was ripped down in the 1960s, it was replaced by hideous buildings like this one, originally built in about 1965 for Abrafact Ltd., who made abrasive materials - grinding wheels and the like - and a lot of noise and dust for local residents. Abrafact changed ownership and name several times throughout the 1990s, and finally left the town (not sure if they went out of business or not) years ago." tatraškoda

As far as I can tell, they also had properties in Sheffield, Birmingham and Manchester at various times, ending up as a holding company under various names in Manchester until around 2004, when they wound up owing money to various banks and investment companies related to properties in Sheffield, Birmingham and Manchester.
