HP-10 notes:
  • Shift 0-8 set FIXed (like) mode. Shift 9 set STanDard (like) mode in which trailing zeros were suppressed. These modes were different form typical HPs in that exponents were not displayed and that the numbers were actually rounded to the FIXed mode setting - not just displayed that way.
  • Shift . set automatic decimal mode for monetary calculations such that 1234 was interpreted as 12.34. (This mode also set the display mode to shift 2.)
  • Total printed the accumulator and cleared it. Subtotal printed but didn't clear.
  • Addition and subtraction could be repeated by multiple presses of +/= or −.
  • After doing a multiplication or divide, the second term was stored in constant register and you could refer to it by pressing shift × or shift ÷.
