i41CX+ Bug With Mathstat Module
Message #1 Posted by Les Wright on 11 Sept 2008, 10:02 p.m.

This may be of interest to those who have the simulator on iPhone or iPod touch.

I downloaded all of the *.MOD files from the TOS directory defaulted by the software. One installing the MATHSTAT module and doing CAT 2 only the Stat module commands are listed. The Math module ones are missing.

The MOD file is fine--does what it is supposed to on V41. I used the very copy i41CX+ downloads, not the copy bundled with V41 even though I expect it is exactly the same one.

Anthony Lagana responded promptly to my bug report (he is right up there with Thomas Okken and Eric Smith in given prompt personal service to users of his software), and advised me that there is an issue and I was not hallucinating. This is a real issue and will go on the list of the mystery bugs that includes the user key assignment issue.

The workaround for this is to use the Math and Stat modules individually. The few other modules I have been playing with (Finance, Advantage, PPC) seem to work fine.

It's a fine little bit of software. I eagerly await Apple to release the 1.0.1 iteration that fixes the printer bugs and some other things.

I have already mentioned this in new threads, but Antonio wrote me to advise that he did find the bug that affects Math/Stat and similar "compound" modules (he gives Sandmath-III as another example), but that the fix will not make it until 1.1, which will also include the ability to clean up lists of modules and programs that have been downloaded if they are no longer wanted.

1.0.1 is now available at the AppStore and the printer bugs have been fixed.
