ebay.de price history updated and at new adress
Message #1 Posted by Holger Weihe on 21 Mar 2003, 6:02 a.m.

Hello,

It took some time, but now I have updated the list of average prices of HP-calcs at ebay.de. The URL has changed. You can now find the list at http://www.hp-calculators.de. The old URL won't work anymore.

Shall I continue posting update notes in this forum?

Holger

Hi Holger,

I, for one, enjoy your price page and hope you continue to update it and let us know here.

Thank you for your work.

Hello hugh,

I shot the photos with a 3 megapixel digital camera on a tripod. The calculator is lying on a table with a sheet of white paper under it. Most of the photos are made with a 500W spotlight, but I now prefer daylight (used on the 20S, the second 28S and the printer). Later I fill the white outside of the foto with pure white and correct the colors if necessary.

I know a couple of professional photographers who shoot very high quality photos close up for high-dollar auction catalogs (Sotheby's Christies, etc). They all recommend shooting outside on an overcast day.

Hello Andreas,

The HP-48 with metal casing is cool, isnt't it? I must admit that I made it with 3d-Studio - just for fun and to provoke some curiosity... :-)

Hi Holger,

very cool!

Now that you say it I looked at the serial number more closely.

It seems to be a number from Singapore, whereas you stated it'd be an Indonesian unit;-)

Regards,

Raymond

Hello Raymond,

the number is ID98008902 which is similiar to the number of one of my real 48GX'es. Doesn't "ID..." stand for Indonesia? Otherwise it would be SG...

But another important question: Did HP really produce more than one million HP-48? First I wanted to make a serial number with very many zeros at the end, but I thought that this would be too obvious...

Holger
