|HP41C service in UK?|
Message #1 Posted by Michael Sayers on 9 Mar 2003, 10:39 a.m.
Does anyone know where I can get my 41C serviced in the UK? It was working a little while ago, but now it is completely dead. I have tried new batteries to no avail. If anyone can suggest any measures I can take myself, I would be most grateful.

Self-help most likely problems:
1. Batteries, and poor connections due to corrosion on battery contacts or springs. Doesn't take much green to prevent contact.
2. Cracked screw posts, creating poor connection with battery or logic board. See http://www.hpmuseum.org/cgi-sys/cgiwrap/hpmuseum/articles.cgi?read=2 for help.

It sounds as if you have a decent amount of experience working on HP calculators, eh?
Anyway, I just wanted to point out to everyone (and yourself) that we are lucky to have a guy like you around and offering free help. Thanks!
