PC editor for HP-48/49
Message #1 Posted by Jeff_G on 29 Apr 2002, 7:49 a.m.

I've been transferring equations and programs from my HP-48 to my PC and back again. My problem is that I'm using Notepad as mu PC editor and many of the HP-48 symbols aren't represented within Notepad.

Is there a PC editor designed to handle all the ASCII characters on the HP-48? Ideally, I'd like to write my equations and programs on the PC and tranfer them to the calculator later.

there is a translation code that allows you to select if the calculator (HP48) will convert some 1-character code into 3 codes (say, right-arrow into /->) when downloading (HP48->PC) and back when uploading (PC->HP48). This feature is available at the IO Menu. Look for it - Translation Code - in the HP48 Owner's Handbook (mine is not in hands, now), and in the Advance User's Guide (AUG). Anyway, if you download any file and load it back using Notepad, I'm almost sure it will not convert ASCII-codes inadvertently.

Hope it helps.
