HP 38E Self test?
Message #1 Posted by Martin C. Edmonds on 24 Dec 1999, 12:25 p.m.

I just noticed that my HP 12C has a self-test feature. I don't see such a feature listed in my HP 38E manual. Is there an undocumented self test built into the 38E? I just repaired a recently acquired old beat-up 38, and want to see if it's 100% OK. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Martin C. Edmonds

On the HP32 and HP33 the self test is STO ENTER. It returns "-8,8,8,8,8,8,8,8,8,8," if everything is OK. Since the 38 is in the same series, you might try STO ENTER on it.

Jerry is correct. All the "Spice" models (31E, 32E, 33E, 33C, 34C, 37E, 38E, and 38C) had that same self-test routine.
