The Museum of HP Calculators

Upgrade Notes

Version 8.00, Released November 2014 adds about 2GB of data, or about 200 new PDF documents plus many program files (raw, bin, and txt formats), and the later archives of the old HP Forum. This is our first version on a single small sleek 16GB USB drive making each document a single click from a single master index file with no need to change disks for find things. Like Version 7, most documents are searchable via an OCR process and many color manuals now also have bookmarks. (Since OCR is never perfect, you may not be able to find some occurrences of some search terms. The OCR text is invisible and doesn't affect the appearance of the manual.) It took a long time to find and scan a good collection of new documents but it's finally here.  It now takes 28 CDs to hold the whole collection so we definitely recommend the USB drive!

Version 7.00, Released November 2009 adds about 275 Individual Users' Library Programs and about 125 other new documents since Version 6.00. In addition, most documents were made searchable via an OCR process. Many color manuals now also have bookmarks. (Since OCR is never perfect, you may not be able to find some occurrences of some search terms. The OCR text is invisible and doesn't affect the appearance of the manual.)

Version 6.00, Released July 2007, adds nearly two hundred documents since version 5.00 and more than four hundred since version 4.00. Most prominently on Version 6 and later, most of the early colorful calculator manuals have been painstakingly rescanned in full color. In most color calculator manuals each page has been individually straightened, cropped, brightness adjusted, and checked for major dust specs and other issues by hand. The curator spent an average of about 50 hours "touching up" each color manual.

Any upgrade version and the original full version that it upgrades are considered a single product, and cannot be separated. This includes upgrades that completely obsolete your earlier CDs or DVDs. In exchange for the reduced price of the upgrade, you agree that if you transfer ownership of your CDs and/or DVDs, you will transfer all versions together as a complete unit.

In order to upgrade, your name and either your mailing address or your email address must match those used previously.
