A while back someone was looking for the 28S ROM image and I posted it along with a collection of emulators. The download is 1.3GB. You can find it here:

I remember when the 28C came out in January 1987...The University of Pittsburgh campus book store had a huge advertisement for the calc...back then college campus really promoted HP calcs big time...

RE: I now have 35 HP related calculators on my PC...
I somehow have ended up with 51 emulators on my PC, and am downloading the emulator zip as we speak!

Slow here in South Africa, 20 minutes, & 142MB so far!

Any ideas where I can find a HP22S emulator for PC?
I'm also looking for a freeware HP27S emulator for my Android phone.

Many thanks to all.

Regards,
Robin

RE: I now have 35 HP related calculators on my PC...
I'm using a little program called 'Quick Access Popup' from http://www.quickaccesspopup.com/

It gives a pull down menu when you middle click (mouse wheel) your mouse, & I've got a menu of all the calculators as well as a link to the manuals.
It just makes life a lot easier for me.

I also have a Casio FX7500, Ti-59, Sharp PC1500, Sinclair Z88 & some Russian emulators as well.

Those are HP-22, not 22S

RE: I now have 35 HP related calculators on my PC...
Thanks, Franz, but those are for the HP-22

The HP-22S is an algebraic scientific/statistics calculator.

The HP-22 is a RPN business/financial one, which I have.

Sorry, I've overlooked the 'S' in your posting.

I've almost every calculator emulator in my huge archive, but nothing for the HP-22S, so I guess an emulation for this one doesn't even exist.

Franz

RE: I now have 35 HP related calculators on my PC...
Much appreciated, Franz.
The algebraic calculators are hard to find.
My trusty HP-27S, that I have has since 1988, is sitting on my desk.
I use it daily, & am battling to find a 27S emulator for android, freeware if at all possible)

Regards,
Robin

After 3 hours, 10 minutes, the Emulator download is at 937 MB downloaded.
So far, so good!

Olivier has a 27s emulator, info can be found here: https://sites.google.com/site/olivier2smet2/home/go42s

Note that it is not free (though it is cheap) however check with Olivier about your version of Android before buying; I bought it, but it would not work on Android 7.0 and after many months he still has not replied to me about getting it fixed. If they work with your version, these emulators are nice, but since they are sold through the Android Play Store, they really need to be kept up to date, IMHO.

I saw that on the Play Store. I also dropped him a mail a few months ago, with no reply.

Thanks.

Some of Christoph Giesselink's emulators support multiple calculator models.
http://hp.giesselink.com/emu42.htm

The problem is getting the HP-22S ROM image. Without an IR port this isn't possible without tearing a 22S apart and reading the ROM with a logic analyzer.

Consequently, no 22S emulator exists.

I am very close to releasing my new emulator skin pack. I've put a lot of time into making sure these are the best looking skins ever produced. Here's a subset of what I've been working on:

Eric,

Those are fantastic looking. I love the fact that you say it's only a "subset". Can't wait to see the entire "set".

I see you included the HP-19Bii.

Is there a ROM file to emulate the 19Bii? I have the ROM for the 17bii, but have never run across one for the 19bii.

Thanks for your great work on the skin pack.

Great stuff.
I'm trying to complete my 'collection'

I've looked hard for a HP11C emulator to run in Windows 10.

I have nonpareil-o.77-win32 & nonpareil-11c, but I have no idea how to get things working. Any ideas?

Yes, this Nonpareil is a bit complicated to use, because it requires the GTK+ toolkit.
Have you installed this?
If not, then you can download it from the Nonpareil website:
http://nonpareil.brouhaha.com/download/
IIRC it needs a reboot after installation, but I don't know if this old GTK will still work in Win10.

An other possibility would be on this website:
http://www.rlmtools.com/
They have several HP calculators (also the 11C) - these are simulators, not really emulators, but they look very nice, have additional features and should work like the original HP calculators.
The programs on this website are only shareware, but for an experienced hacker this is of course no problem ... Wink

Very, very nice! Looking forward to seeing these live.

When you announce it, please make a new thread, we'll certainly never find here.
