RE: Allschwil Meeting 2016
Guys

Thank you all for the laurels, but the thanks goes to yourselves. The Allschwil Meeting lives on the spirit of innovation and diversity of participants. Without you the meeting would not be possible.

On my website there are also good news for those who stayed at home:

- The HP-41C/CV/CX database has been completely revised and is now available as an online database. There is also an HP-48SX/GX database and an HP-71B database available since today. All three databases give you the possibility to filter individually and then to export the desired data as either .csv or .pdf.
- In addition, I was able to publish the long awaited prototype ROMs of a HP-71A and it's HP-IL module at the meeting. Now the series is well finished.

A report of the meeting will hopefully be published at a later date.

Nice - and where do I find the corresponding manuals and images to run in an emulator or alike? On TOS??

Ciao.....Mike

Yes. It does not makes sence to have two or more download servers for the same thing. But I'm in progress to expand the database with individual informations...... Maybe I finish that work untill Allschwil 2018! I hope you are all back then.

Thanks to Matthias for sharing these prototypes with us!
It was a joined work between Sylvain (finding the working HP71/HPIL configuration), myself (extracting the ROM content through HPIL/PILBox/ILPer) and Christoph (converting and checking the ROM, testing on Emu71/Win).

I already made some interesting observations on these ROM, it will be the subject of another thread.

A good point worth to mention.

Now Matthias has published his modules databases and on TOS you find the corresponding manuals and ROM images. That is 'sharing economy'. Wink

I am so glad not to be an extreme collector(*) any more (or never was), what I've got is waaay enough to play with some nostalgia, all the free(!) emulators and all the ROM images I find in the Internet gives me plenty to do. Every contribution within the community, from the tiny ones to the great presentations I saw (and enjoyed!) at this years Allschwil meeting, has its value for this hobby with so many facets. I would greatly appreciate if I could find somewhere the slides of the meeting's presentations, to read along once more or show a colleague what "repairing an HP-01" realy means.

Ciao.....Mike

(*) I only miss the ROMs of the HP18C and HP10C, and a nice-to-have would be different versions of the Voyagers. That does not imply that I have all the rest, I am just not looking for it.

You are right, this is not the best way: I should get in touch with Warren Furlow (HP-41 modules), Eric Rechlin (HP-48 cards) and Sylvain Côté (HP-71 modules). Sh** this is not very practical, too..... [Wink] Any idea? I do not want to get in trouble with one of these three.

Don't let trouble you until trouble troubles you. Old saying. Smile

Well, this hint is not of much help in this case. An advice from Einstein is 'never stop asking questions', it's just a prerequisite to get answers.

Ciao.....Mike

I made my Inside HP-01 document available for download. Have fun and enjoy reading.

Thanks for sharing these Jean-Francois. Interesting topics should make some fun reading. Wish I could have attended... maybe in 2018?

RE: Allschwil Meeting 2016
Thank you very much Matthias for organizing the meeting.
I was a great pleasure to finally see in person the peoples I communicate with.
The presentations were very interesting and different from the HHC-2016 (well except from mine, next time I will have an original one).
Unfortunately, it was too short, IMHO a full day would have been needed to cover everything that was in the agenda.
Thank you all!
Sylvain
PS: Sorry about the delay for posting this message, thing are going crazy on my side since returning from Basel.

RE: Allschwil Meeting 2016
It was a great day, and time went by so fast that in the end, there was no time to for all the presentations that were prepared, as it was the case with my short talk about the Grabau GR7 Grafik-Videocontroller. I've made it available now (51 MB, ZIP) for anyone who is interested in this quite exotic HP-IL device. (I know I'm a bit late, but better late than never)
