The workaround you propose implies adding code to specially handle those ratios and cancel the units. This affects performance for all operations with all units, so I'd rather not include such things unless strictly necessary.
The glitch only happens if you define equations in terms of temperature change and then use absolute temperature values instead, and as jojo1973 said, I don't know if there are cases where it may be desirable to distinguish them. Since it doesn't cause much trouble I didn't think it needed special treatment.
After all J/K (entropy) is not the same as J/ \(\Delta\)K
