RE: newRPL: Handling of units
Nice, I didn't know that units had help pages. Anyway this confirms that _tec is 'Tonne of Coal Equivalent'. It's value remains a mystery, probably bogus: all the sources concord on defining it as 0.7_toe which makes 29.3076_GJ.
Probably I've found a meaning of _cf: as defined on the HP Prime, it's exactly 0.3_kWh. Online conversion tools report that 1 Cubic Foot of Natural Gas is approximately 0.29_kWh. Since these units are not part of a coherent system and must take into account the variation of due to the quality of the gas/oil extracted, they are usually rounded to a simpler value: this seems to be the case... I just wish I could find a reference! (05-08-2016 03:48 PM)Terje Vallestad Wrote: From the Prime in calculator help |
