\[\frac{1}{3}-\frac{1}{4}\neq \frac{1}{12}\]

on a 10-digit calculator ( 3 1/x 4 1/x - 12 1/x - --> -3e-11 ).

Since \(\frac{1}{n}\) and \(\frac{1}{n+1}\) are close we experience extinction when calculating the difference. Thus using \(\frac{1}{n(n+1)}\) is more accurate.
