(sqrt(-2))^2
Hello !
I try to calculate (sqrt(-2))^2, which should give -2. In home mode it works fine. In CAS mode it works using brackets (first picture). After pressing enter the square root will be represented without brackets, it will give (sqrt(2)*i)^2 which simplified gives -2 (second picture). If I try to enter it without brackets (third picture), when I press enter the root becomes sqrt((-2)^2) and the answer will be 2, which is wrong (fourth picture). Any hints? |
