It would be nice to have both of them in the same type.

The spiral bound has the advantage, that you can leave it open on the table, when using the calculator with at least one hand. This was the reason for HP always to use spiral bound manuals.

I would pay more for the spiral manual if available.

There won't be a spiral bound manual from my side unless a group of 20 people wants them. For the time being, you can get an updated paperback manual for the WP 31S here. Quality of the interior matches the spiral bound manuals distributed earlier.
