Is there still interest in the Classic replacement boards?
I have recently had two requests for the emulator board for the Classic calculators.
https://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/post-87732.html
I have run out of PCBs but am contemplating ordering new PCBs and components.
Is there any further interest in these?

Cheers,
Harald

Hi Harald,

I might be interested since I have an 45 with a messed up cpu-board (previous owner had tried to (unsuccessfully) modify it somehow).
But some segments in the LED-module are broken (drivers etc are ok), do you know of any replacement for these? I have looked for the QDSP-6061 but failed to find anything or similar, I guess they are build of unobtainium these days ...

Cheers,
Thomas

The only source I found are dead classic calculators.

I ordered PCBs Smile
Customs regulations have changed here in Germany, so it might take a while for the boards to arrive.

I ordered the emulator board from Harald 5 years ago, and it's a wonderful piece of work. I urge all HP Classic owners to order one!

Regards,
Dave

Thank you for the kind words Dave. Tony deserves most of the credit. It's his emulation. I only did the hardware and the software for the display driver interface.

Cheers,
Harald

Hi Harald,
is the hidden stopwatch feature on the HP45 avaiable? If yes, is it more accurate then on the original hardware?

Hi Ralf,

Yes it is available and accessed by pressing "RCL" "ENTER" in the HP45 emulation and via the switch menu in the HP55 emulation. The stopwatch is more accurate than most 45s without crytal modification, but less accurate than a 55 or crystal modified 45.

Cheers,
Harald

RE: Is there still interest in the Classic replacement boards?
The good news is: The PCBs have arrived.
The bad news is: none of the components I am missing have arrived. It will probably take a couple of month until I have everything. Depending on what arrives when I might be able to build a few boards sooner.

Cheers,
Harald

RE: Is there still interest in the Classic replacement boards?
Good news. I have received components and have populated and tested the first six boards.
The PCB price remains 79€, but I have to calculate shipping costs depending on shipping address. I used to be able to ship as a signed for letter, but goods unfortunately can't be sent interenationally as letters anymore.

Cheers,
Harald
