Bug with +/- key
If I enter a fraction in single quotes onto the stack in RPN mode and then change the sign (+/- key), the sign of the fraction on the stack changes correctly, but if I change the sign again by pressing the +/- key again, it adds a + sign ahead of the previous minus sign.
example: stack: 1/2
after first sign change: -1/2
after second sign change: +-1/2
after third sign change: -+-1/2
and so on.
I am using Version 10077 of the firmware, so I don't know if this bug has been fixed in the latest firmware version.

10637 keeps adding minus signs for every press of +/-. Of course the 1/2 isn't a number so who knows what should happen!

RE: Bug with +/- key
The +/- key should toggle the sign on the number. I think that since the Prime has a totally separate CAS environment, that while in HOME-RPN, the rational number 1/2 is interpreted as an expression that divides two numbers as opposed to a single number.
Still it would be nice to have it so that the +/- key would toggle the sign on rational expressions as does the 50G.

How do y'all key this? I can't reproduce it on my Prime.

Set entry mode to RPN.

That's a given, but then?

I'm typing SHIFT-() to get the '...' template, fill in 1/2, and no matter where I place the cursor +/- only toggles the unary minus (in place or in front of any number the cursor is at or in).

Enter the fraction in single quotes onto the stack and then use the +/- key to toggle the sign.

Ah. It works fine until you hit Enter, afterwards it keeps adding - signs to the thing on top of the stack.

Right. That's exactly what I'm seeing. Every press pus another minus sign in front.

It's still in the latest firmware, 2016 08 29 (10637).

Happens also on 11226 (Virtual Prime) and on 11456 (Android app).

RE: Bug with +/- key
It just isn't a high priority issue because it is in essence a cosmetic issue for a non-standard operation (toggling signs repeatedly over and over and over and over...) and so hasn't been worked on. It doesn't impact calculations in any way.

Hence, the priority behind other things is much lower.

RE: Bug with +/- key
I think it's not hard to fix for the next update. It is good that the HP people direct their eyes towards these forums, because the success of this calculator depends a lot on how the sea received and valued by the community of users and programmers !!!
