HP 49G Series: Update of 48G Exmath - Gerald H - 10-13-2017 06:42 AM Is now available here http://www.hpcalc.org/details/8702 RE: HP 49G Series: Update of 48G Exmath - rprosperi - 10-13-2017 01:16 PM (10-13-2017 06:42 AM)Gerald H Wrote: Is now available here Why no version for the 2.15 ROM for the 49G+ and 50g? This is the latest (and final) version and believe 2.15 is by far the most common version in use today. RE: HP 49G Series: Update of 48G Exmath - Gerald H - 10-13-2017 04:19 PM I don't have a 50g with 2.15 ROM. I believe 2.10-7 is the same, except for the Apps, having the Geometry App but not the one for data collection. Perhaps someone could test Exmath on a 50g with 2.15? RE: HP 49G Series: Update of 48G Exmath - Gerald H - 10-13-2017 05:18 PM I have cursorily tested Exmath on Android go49g+ OS 2.15 & so far all seems OK. Although there is always a small chance a new version could add a new bug, this version definitely fixed many bugs, so why not use the better version? Is there some advantage to using the older version (other than you are more familiar with it)? RE: HP 49G Series: Update of 48G Exmath - Gerald H - 10-13-2017 07:30 PM Well, 2-10-7 does have the Geometry App, I consider that a small plus. I don't know if any bugs were removed between 2-10-7 & 2.15. In the .pdf file included with 2.15 there is a Change Log list, but no bugs, except for that introduced in 2.14, have been fixed since 2.10, so I presume 2.10-7 is as bug-free as 2.15. Do you have any further documentation? In this thread http://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-9195.html posts 10, 11 & 15 Joe Horn believes my 50g is faster than his. I don't know how great the variance in speed is between different 50gs using the same OS, nor indeed between different OSs. Perhaps 2.10-7 is faster? RE: HP 49G Series: Update of 48G Exmath - Gerald H - 10-13-2017 07:34 PM I forgot to say that I also have 2.10-7 installed on my 49G. RE: HP 49G Series: Update of 48G Exmath - Gerald H - 10-13-2017 07:43 PM Both 2.10-7 & 2.15 have this Easter egg: https://www.thecalculatorstore.com/Calculator-blog/Yet-another-Easter-egg-in-the-HP50g RE: HP 49G Series: Update of 48G Exmath - Gerald H - 10-13-2017 07:51 PM But this Easter egg https://www.thecalculatorstore.com/Calculator-blog/Tetris-in-the-HP50g seems to have been removed in 2.15, at least on the go49g+ emulator. I think I recall seeing a list of bugs fixed in 2.15 but can't find it now. Perhaps I'm mistaken about that, but I do know at that stage, HP was only patching the 50g ROM if absolutely necessary (as there was literally no free ROM space left, so every single change took lots of work) so I'm fairly sure the 2.15 release was driven by bug fixes, even if they weren't acknowledged in public docs. I've used the library for some years, incrementally improving & adding functions & not noticed any bugs for some time. RE: HP 49G Series: Update of 48G Exmath - Gerson W. The documentation says that after executing the EXMATH command, numbers are entered by pressing the "the B key (2nd menu key)". But that's not true for the 50g version of the library, which shows the "%" function on the B key. I can't find any key combination that lets you enter numbers. Also, the doc says that the 5th menu key is Exit. It's not. So I can't enter numbers at all, and I can't exit. Please help. RE: HP 49G Series: Update of 48G Exmath - Gerald H - 10-15-2017 09:02 AM To ENTER a number: Right Shift (Orange) then F1 demands a mantissa & then an exponent. To EXIT: Right Shift (Orange) then F6. A further change is the position of SWAP which is now Right Cursor Key.
