HP41c screen cleaning - zixingcheche - 03-12-2024 06:35 AM

Hello,

Does anyone know how to clean the dust inside the screen of HP41C? (early version, SN 1937A00711)

I use the air blower, but it seems not effect.

BTW, the same air blower wors well when cleaning the late version 41C.

Thanks!

Hi zixingcheche,

i have cleaned already several HP41 display covers, the best way is to desolder the display.

This is not difficult and lasts only some minutes. Take a needle under each leg, desolder the pin and lift up with little force. Do not apply too much force that the cnducting path does not come up. If this happens it is indeed easy to fix. Pull out the display with caution and clean.

After cleaning the display and the cover your HP will look like new.:-)

Hi Ralf

I just finished cleaning the LCD according to your suggestion.
it takes 10 minutes in total.
Now the LCD is very clean and without big dusts.

Thank you!
