When sending an app on the emulator to the hardware, apps of the same name are not overwritten. Instead, a new app of the same name gets created. This would cause conflicts with programs that use explicit name referencing (e.g. MyApp.variable1 no longer makes sense if there are two apps of the same name 'MyApp')
Oddly, subsequent transfers do overwrite the 2nd copy...
Edit: this bug seems to be very difficult to replicate.
