Digital microscope fun - Geoff Quickfall - 08-29-2014 09:23 PM

bought digital usb microscope in Beijing last year and forgot about it. well out it comes (15 dollars) and I hooked it up today.

found out that not all 19Cs are created equal. I have two here, one with an attempt at a repair and the other fully working after repair.

only one has the HP logo in the decimal place and here it is. the grey background is the shaped LED. The hp is not part of the led.

Not to steal Katie's thunder, but she's been using the HP19C's decimal point as her avatar since the inception of the new forum software.

I know ;-) and I have been trying to photo the hp logo since. This post is just an exercise to see what a cheap 15 dollar usb digital scope can do:

here are some more of HP 01 trace damage and an HP 01 led segment:

now we know why this corroded HP 01 movement does not work!

compare the above to the following working module:

She used Milo in the beginning.

Nice pic!

I wonder why HP didn't make all their LED displays with their logo as the decimal point it was a really nifty idea.

I'm sure that Milo appreciates the acknowledgement (as he looks down from doggie heaven).
