Broken battery contact HP-67 - swperk - 04-17-2023 12:12 AM

I just received an HP-67 in very good overall condition except that the prior owner had left the battery pack in the calculator and the negative leaf spring contact was severely corroded. It was in such bad shape that it snapped off flush with the calculator case as I was trying to gently clean off the worst of the corrosion.

Has anyone come up with a suitable repair, replacement, or redesign of the battery contacts in these calculators?

Thanks,
Stan

Yes, that’s not very difficult.
This page shows how to open the calculator:

Only the first 5 steps are needed for this work.

Then, you will have to make a small a metal plate, glue it and solder the wire, like in this example of restoration:

As the battery pack was dead, I took it apart and cut a metal sheet from this pack. It’s a bit flimsy, but it works.
