HP-48GX ROM P - MD80_ESP - 11-24-2020 11:52 PM

Hi, I have seen a HP48GX ROM Version P with something like P-Cop...

See the attached picture, is this ROM version normal? I have never seen that before.

Thanks

It would be easier to reply if the picture actually was attached...

HP 48GXs with ROM-P are rare animals, but yes they existed.

Yeah, but the thing is that it's PCop... version, not P, as I do not have it I cannot edit to read the rest of the string.

No mystery here:

The VERSION command returns the following two string objects to stack levels 2 and 1, respectively:

2: "Version HP48-X"
1: "Copyright HP 1993"

where X represents the actual ROM revision number.

Now, you only have to inadvertently hit the [+] key and both strings end up being concatenated, which looks like this:

1: "Version HP48-XCop…

(In the case of string objects, the system decompiler responsible for stack objects does not add line feeds even if you are in multi-line mode, which is the default setting (system flag -52 clear). So the result will always be one single line, if necessary truncated to 19 characters, including the opening double-quote delimiter and the closing ellipsis.)

It's not my calculator or picture, I got it from a seller (I have 48SX and 50G and want a 48GX ROM R), and I should have noticed that (banging head against table)...my stack abilities are a bit rusty :-(

Thanks.

Please add my calculator rom to the list, since this will make it the first GX on the list. The date sequence is unusual as rom version M was still being installed in 48G's at the time, according to the list.

48gx P 3342S10281 Singapore 1993 42

I can email photos or video for verification, let me know where to send it.
A couple years ago I had a guy replace the screen with one from a 38g and all is very nice on it now. On average, the clock speed is 3748864.
