Hi all.

Perhaps it's not as awkward as it sounds. But what applications does/did that program have for math/science/etc.?

Thanks

This sounds like you wonder what this "incomplete" is supposed to mean. The incomplete Gamma function is just a special case of the "usual" Gamma function. Take a look at this post from 2015 to get a short overview.

I have implemented incomplete Gamma and Beta functions for some statistical programs. Some statistical distributions can be expressed in terms of these functions (Normal, ChiĀ², Student, Fisher). But I am sure others can say more about their relevance in mathematics and science. ;-)

Dieter
Dieter, that's brilliant! Just the (how the magician does the tricks) explanation I was looking for! Thanks!
