Thanks for the link. A small advice: if you download PDF-XChange Viewer (the speediest and best free PDF viewer imo), it has a good built in OCR engine that will embed searchable text into these scanned PDFs. I've done it with all scanned manuals, and also added chapter bookmarks myself to a few.
+1 for PDF-XChange Viewer for your PDFs.

How do I carry it without a smartphone or computer? I ruined my screen by trying to staple the pages of the PDF together.

You failed to use a monitor with Gorilla Glass (I think that's a Corning product). Just imagine if you'd tried using a binding comb.
