I tried to translate it using google docs, but while it kind of translated the table of contents and the index, the bulk of the text remained in French. Not sure what was going on there...

I guess there is a 5K character limit per translation in Google Translate.
For those cases, I use Russian Yandex Translate, I am not aware of its limits, though the translation quality of the latter is far from the former.
Hope this helps.

Well, I glanced quickly at it and it seems to be pretty much a slightly modifier version of https://www-fourier.ujf-grenoble.fr/~par...cmd_en.pdf

Yes it would. My french isn't good enough either. The french document has specifics for the Prime, so it's obviously better than the generic XCas version (in English).

I tried using other translators, but they all had limits. I tried other file formats but google docs wouldn't open .odt, .doc or .htm file formats. I then tried breaking it into 6 pdf files, but that wasn't enough as hprime2.pdf is 557 pages long.
I think HP should really make the effort and convert these kinds of docs into all supported languages and put them all together into a user manual. I'd buy a hard copy of that book....
