Hi

I've looked around on the forum for how to open a 17bii calculator with the battery holder on the side. I can't seem to find anything here or on the web except for the back battery model. I picked it up for a steal so am looking to repair it as it won't turn on, I think due to battery spring corrosion. There doesn't seem to be any screws so is it just a case of forcing the clam-shell apart?

Clamshell? Perhaps you are talking about the 19BII? The 17BII was a "pioneer" model as far as I recall.

Anyway, opening the clamshell is a pain, here's Geoff's method (we're eagerly awaiting The Book Smile )
