Anyone knows the price of the device and/or sensors? have one to sell?

It seems I can't find any store with international shipping, not even eBay!
Have you tried contacting Fourier? On their page http://fourieredu.com/store/products/hp-...xW_mIX3_Qp if you click on the shopping basket you can request a quote from a local dealer.

Hi / Ola,
Apparently the price is around 65 Euros. This site has plenty of shops to look for it, just check your flag Smile But it seems out of stock Sad

The Germans sites are a good place to find less common staff. For instance, Calcuso has it in stock and they ship abroad, despite asking a very high price:
http://www.calcuso.de/hp-streamsmart-410.html

Also, in UK on can find a few shops that will ship internationally.
This one sell it for about 80 Pounds.

To be honest, I find these prices on the very high side for such device.

And let us know about your findings!

The only options I see after adding the item is USA & Canada for the shipment :/

Thanks for the links, but in icecat I can't find any store with stock/shipment, in calcuso they have a list of countries (besides germany but not chile :/ ) and in the last one, it says out of stock.

I don't know why HP has to made things so cryptic. It is like when you have an hp laptop and try to find the drivers, in any other website: direct button to download drivers, in HP is a whole other history trying to remember how you reached the driver page last time. Same with the products, how they don't understand the only thing the 99% of the people wants is the "buy" button, not the brochures.
Yap, sometimes it is really annoying not be able to find and buy what we need when we need it.

Apparently most shops don't stock these kind of devices anymore.

For example, this UK site ships to most countries, including Chile, but it is out of stock, however the good news is that they accept back orders, so I guess one can order and wait:
http://www.m4store.co.uk/checkout/cart/
hehehe "good news" like good news everyone (prof. Farnsworth) where usually the news aren't so good.

The problem of back ordering is that the shipment may take 1 month or more to Chile so I will lose the capability to complain to paypal (45 days) if the store never ships anything :/ so I think for now I will set an ebay alert.

Or maybe... someone can sniff the device and we can create an alternative version? (i.e.: to use with arduino)
I have got it but it is very difficult to find it for sale now. I suggest you to wait because HP seems still working on the StreamSmart box. Maybe a new version is coming ?

Is it really worth the effort?

According to Tim(*), both versions of the StreamSmart have problems. Apparently the company has put a lot of effort in keeping the protocol a secret. So, it's closed source, it's expensive, and there are obstacles in the protocol making it difficult to design a good logger. That's how I see the situation, especially since there appear to be no Fourier projects in the large Arduino community.

It is the streamsmart firmware upgradeable? because even if the data is obfuscated, it needs to be sniffed once, with so many errors I don't think they wasted hardware protecting or encoding the data.

Sure it does not worth the effort in terms of money saving (?), but I often like to data collect information and it would be lovely able to use the streamsmart app from the prime menu.

I hope Tim can answer this at least for the HP version. Nothing about this is found on the HP and the Fourier sites.

I agree it is a nice application for the Prime(*). If I knew the interface between SS and Prime, I'd try something myself with an Arduino Leonardo. With a little luck, it's one of those standard USB protocols. But I'm more interested in professional sensors as used in AHUs, even if that means an additional LCD and some buttons to the Arduino to enter the physical unit and the conversion parameters. UI code is not an issue, already implemented several menus.

(*) would that work on the 39gII, too? I've seen them for about 50 EUR, which is very close to what I would invest.
Yes the streamsmart firmware is upgradeable but no upgrade nor tool or software is available.

Found it. Works since 1.3 firmware :-).

That kit looks very neat! How much does it cost? (with all the probes and sensors?)
Thanks, I was trying to check the total price with shipment but it seems they forgot Chile! eheh:

They even have Venezuela in that list! and that country is almost a 2nd Cuba right now! Tongue
