Hey Y'all.

I'm sure we'll have a new firmware soon Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

This thread will serve for the first firmware testers to give feedback about the impressions of the new FW/SW version. For now, we only have a new version of the Connectivity Kit (Rev. 7820, dated 27-Apr-2015), I hope that this update came with new firmware for the calculator, many will be as excited as I am with this idea. Sorry if my English is not perfect, I'm still learning. Thank you.

Stay tuned on the FTP Servers: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/calculators/Prime

Hello,

in the german language the menu text

"search for updates" is not german but French

it should be read as

Auf Aktualisierungen überprüfen

best regards

Wolfgang
Connectivity Kit updating ok :-)
But for the Calcs?
Update firmware proposes still "20141203"...

Let's wait... :-)

EDIT (first test):
maybe it's only a problem here, but double clicking on Application Library -> Inference (or, here, in Inference copy) to open it, the program crashes (both for Emulator and for the Prime).
For now, it doesn't happen with other Apps...
New Update, New Bugs...

"I've noticed that my personal applications created from the spreadsheet appear as plot type applications... and suddenly no trace of the data contained in the cells".

Someone who can confirm whether this happens in all cases? Thank You!
You're not alone noticing that, someone reported this exact problem on other message boards.
By the way, the new connectivity kit installs on Windows XP, but crashes immediately with a message about not being able to find CancelIoEx in kernel.dll. (According to Microsoft, CancelIoEx was introduced with Windows Vista.)

At the moment, it seems to be withdrawn for a bit...
I don't know why.
Yeah, there was some sort of problem with the uploading process (which caused the system to upload the firmware, then the emulator removed the firmware on upload, and then the connkit removed the emulator on upload). They had to pull them all down and they will be putting them up as they get that corrected.
New Firmware now ready to download. Big Grin Happy to see new things on my HP Prime Calculator.

Already updated the Prime!

But still no CK and Emulator software...

We have too many things to test, now Smile

Is there a foolproof way to update the physical Prime?

How did you do it (step-by step)?

Thanks so much!
I got the calculator update okay after a few attempts, but it seems I cannot get the new connectivity kit. It says there is no new update available when I try. How do I update it manually, then? Because my calculator is on the new version, it seems that the connkit won't recognise my calculator with the new firmware. Also, no virtual calc version out yet, apparently.

Well, I looked at a few new features. The best change is the new DEBUG interface. I still don't have breakpoints, as far as I can tell, but the interface is really good and actually useful for debugging. I like the new options in the stats apps as well. Really nice! I still have to play around with AVars and AFiles. Other cool little things include new stats functions, displaying the contents of grobs in the home screen, and the display of CAS geometry in the home screen.

Pretty cool! I saw something about app icons in the connkit update notes; so I really want to see that. I hope to get the other updates soon.

In the afternoon I updated CK, then its files was withdrawn...
This evening was uploaded the file for the calc, and with CK I clicked upon "Check for update", this downloaded the file and then I choose to Update the calculator.
All ok with Windows 7.
Now, however I cannot find CK nor Emulator update file.
Thanks,

I'll wait until it is safe to update.
Hi, In the afternoon, while updating I took a scare. NOT recommend upgrading from Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 because drivers tend to fail, but it is safe to do so from Windows 7/8. If you want to update the FW, connect the calculator to your PC and update via the Connectivity Kit. I'll be helpful if questions or problems arise.

Not a 'real' breakpoint, but do you know that you can add a 'debug;' statement in a program and it will act as a breakpoint?

How to get something to show up in the lower portion of the DEBUG Screen?

Hi Wolfgang, may we consider this a German bug ?

Tap down there on the screen with your finger and type the name of the variable you want. I think the HELP key has that information, but I may be remembering wrong.
Is it possible to have all variables show up automatically as well (like it used to be), or do they all need to be typed in?
