I just registered, everything went fine excepted the captcha, I had to try several times before getting it right.

I got the user id 48, not a bad number :-)

Many thanks Dave for the hpmuseum forum, both the old one and this new one!!
I registered as #92. Funny, I've never thought of myself as the financial type.

I wonder who is lucky forum member #95?

Mark Hardman
Out of curiosity, how did you know you were #48 ?
Just click on your name to go to your profile and you'll see your user number in the url.
28.

Reminds me to get one.

Ahh -- ver cool. I'm 2^3.
Well I was the lucky one and got the 42 :-)
Who is No. 35?

BTW, I can't access the member list. Is there a reason for this?

yeah, me too. I was able to for a while, but not now.

I wanted to be user # 65, so I waited until the 64th member was welcomed and then hit the registration submit button, and it said I was 65, but my URL says 66. Bummer.

As I was reading around the net about forum administration and spam defenses, I noticed a couple of recommendations to close the memberlist because some spammers use to to PM-spam or email-spam members and that "It will give your members a feeling of some privacy".

So I did it, but it's not a big deal to me. If people want it open, it can be open.
Dave, I'd say leave it closed to reduce spam possibilities.

Well, 143 for me
I am #188, not an interesting number. Not enough patience to wait for #1729 :-)

I think that maybe should be possible to do it, but under restriction.
you can leave to the people who ask the permeission and , ofcourse if , should be something wrong, the responsabilty will be shared among a few people only.
Actually I think it's useful and a good to know who are the members, just to send a PM maybe, we belong not to a "SECRET SOCIETY".
Ofcourse I understand and agree too, the security and the privacy need.
Damn, I have 40, if I had waited a little more i would have had 41!
I've got #45 -- pretty content with that Smile

Wait a bit longer until 425 comes along?
