I know these are rare, but my girlfriend has offered to buy me one for Christmas!

It all depends on:

a) Whether anyone has one that they wish to sell, and
b) How much you want for it!

This is not going to be re-sold on TAS! I want to use it to experiement with Forth/Assembler on my HP-71B, so it will be used and appreciated.

Fingers crossed!

Nick
Hi Nick,

The FORTH/Assembler ROM image along with Emu71/Win will allow you to assemble code that can be run on a physical 71B. Is there some functionality of the module that can't be achieved with the emulator that you desire?

Dave
Hi Dave,

Thank you for your suggestion. Yes, I have used the emulator, and made some progress with it.

There are two reasons why I'd prefer the "real thing":
1) I have no means of moving the compiled programs onto my real HP-71B
2) I think it's somehow more satisfying typing on that real keyboard. It's part of the magic!

If I abandon any hope of a Forth module, I would need some HP-IL interface to get the programs from the emulator?
Hello Nick,

That will be IMHO a better investment.

At the minimum you would need the following items ...
1 x HP-82401A HP-IL Interface for HP-71B (look on eBay)
1 x PIL-Box (http://www.jeffcalc.hp41.eu/hpil/)
1 x 82167B 1m cable (look on eBay)

With the above you will then have access to Christoph virtual devices.
