Anyone have any input or pointers info or anything to help me attempt to repair the ON key in my 48GX, I would appreciate help. And I don't think a glass of soapy water and a hair dryer is a good idea. :-D
The key still works but is intermittent.

Does it help pressing on the bezel above the C key?

Not at first..., but some time out of the environmental case seems to have helped. Then it did it again and seems to work much better when I hold pressure on the case or bezel near the C key! So Yes.
