m.dy in display of WP-34S
Message #1 Posted by Harold A Climer on 2 Nov 2013, 2:43 p.m.

What is the purpose of the m.dy in the upper left part of the display of the WP-34S calculator, both in the emulator and the calculator itself? When I reset the calculator or the emulator it disappears.

It indicates the current date format (month.dayyear). A reset sets it to d.my which is indicated by the absence of any indicator. See page 37 of the manual.

If you are not to afraid to build a software, there is a compile-time switch DEFAULT_DATEMODE in features.h that tells when not to annoy.
