Connectivty Kit for HP Prime needs an "Import Program" Command
Message #1 Posted by Eddie W. Shore on 23 Oct 2013, 9:42 a.m.

I wish the Connectivity Kit had an "Import Program" function. That way we don't have to hunt around guessing where the downloaded HPPRGM files should go.

I must made a copied a downloaded HPPRGM file to several places including the HP Connectivity Kit and AppData and I still can't get it to show up on my emulator.

I think the emulator has several instances to which it falls back in case of a crash/warmstart.

C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\HP_Prime

and similar folders (e.g. ends with HP_Prime_1). You can either place it in all of them, or close the emulator and open it repeatedly until it loads the instance in which you saved the program. If this still doesn't work, then I'm not sure what's going on =/

But yes, drag and drop would be a welcome feature.

An HPPRGM is simply a dump of program variables from last RUN and the program source code in unicode.
Why not just store programs in text files and use Copy/Paste to copy them to CK and emulators ?

I agree - I prefer using text files (saved in Unicode 8) to HPPRGM files.
