HP Prime mods
Message #1 Posted by Han on 29 Sept 2013, 1:02 p.m.

Some ideas I had because I like tinkering with electronics:

Full aluminum case for in the HP Prime. Actually I would be happy with just the back plastic being replaced by aluminum. Does anyone have any tips on how to go about doing this?

LED lighting underneath the keys -- for the occasional bedtime programming :-) I tried searching for small-component LEDs but they seem a bit hard to locate. Again, tips on where to find some would be much appreciated.

Ebay, as usual, is (may be) your friend. Do a search on "led smt" and you will find many vendors of tiny little LED chips, in all colors, at a few cents per chip (if you buy a hundred!).

Hm.. those surface mounted leds look pretty cool. Thank you for the tip, Dave
