HP 50G List of Library numbers already in use?
Message #1 Posted by Michael Lopez on 4 Aug 2013, 12:38 a.m.

Hi all,

Just wondering if there is a list anywhere of the Library numbers that are already widely in use on the HP 50G & even HP 48 series? Also, what is the permitted range of library numbers to use?

The reason for asking is that I am planning to create a couple of libraries & wanted to avoid future "clashes".

Many thanks,

Michael

Rules for HP 48/49/50 library ID numbers in HEX:

0000 - 0100 Take-over libraries; do not use
0101 - 0300 HP ROM-based libraries; do not use
0301 - 05A0 Assigned by HP to 3rd Parties
05A1 - 0600 For your experimental work; not kept track of by HP
0601 - 06F6 For personal non-shared use
06F7 - 06FF Already allocated by HP; do not use
0700 - 07FF Command-line; do not use

The rules as originally published by HP can be found here:
http://www.hpcalc.org/hp48/docs/programming/libnums.txt

Here are two lists of ID numbers in use by libraries published until 2009:
HP48: http://www.hpcalc.org/details.php?id=4532
HP49: http://www.hpcalc.org/details.php?id=4533

Hope that helps!
