WP-34s feature suggestion: "Follow jump" shortcut
Message #1 Posted by Andrew Nikitin on 10 June 2013, 7:08 p.m.

I would like to suggest a "follow the jump" keyboard shoutcut in sto mode.

If current command shows GTO, XEQ, BACK or SKIP, this shortcut should just take you there according to standard label search algorithm. Indirect jumps could be ignored, or they could use current value of a register. Even cooler: if you follow XEQ this way, then save the address in special stack and "follow" shortcut applied to RTN (or RTN+1) takes you back (or back-er). (you only need to keep this special stack while in sto mode, dispose it when exit).

I nominate [->][->] for a shortcut.

Andrew,

I'm afraid you're a bit late. WP 34S function set is closed. Only bug fixes are done and will be done. But we may take your suggestion to the 43S. Thanks for your understanding.

Oh, I did not realize that. Now I understand your previous remark (about should have seeing earlier). I am not good at recognizing sarcasm, especially on the internet.

Oh, that wasn't meant to be sarcastic. It's just a pity that some thorough investigators didn't come earlier - might have saved us some errors. TIA for further hints.
