[wp34s] Say thank you thread
Message #1 Posted by RalfGeiger on 2 Apr 2013, 2:17 p.m.

Hi all,

I am not sure, nore the search function revealed a "say thank you" thread for the incredible wp34s.

I am new to this forum and found it searching for a replacement of my trusty hp48sx. I was very excited reading about the wp34s and built up one over easter holidays.

Just to want to say thanks to the developers of the firmware, the keyboard overlay from Eric and the USB Interface from Harald.

Keep going ...

Cheers Ralf

Me too! The amount of work that has gone into the coding, the hardware modifications, and the outstanding documentation is simply incredible, not to mention the prompt responses to questions and rapid bug-fixing. Huge thanks to all concerned.

I'd also like to add my thanks for the wp34s emulator for iPad/iPhone. This is my first exposure to the wp34s, and I have a lot to learn about it. Obviously a lot of thought has gone into this product and the emulators and documentation.

My thanks, Bob in San Francisco

If you want speed stick to the emulator! ;)

I made a very short comparison between my converted 30b, an iPod touch 3rd generation and my brand new iPad 2. It was a simple loop: LBL A; 1; +; GTO A. The calculator reached about 10,000 in 10 seconds while the iPod reached about 140,000 and the iPad 260,000.

Same here, I'm loving the wp34s on my iPod 5th Gen! Tried several other HP apps on the iPod, but was glad to find the wp34s - as I am familiar with 32sii and 35s style of RPN entry/programming - it is awesome!

Many thanks to all who worked tirelessly to make the wp34s a reality.

While my two future WP34s still await conversion I have installed the Emulator on my tablet and flip back and forth between manual and emulator trying to learn all its tricks.

What I have seen so far really shows that a LOT of thought has been put into the design and the designers/authors really deserve a big thank you for that.
