IR Link Problem: HP48 <-> PC
Message #1 Posted by Waon Shinyoe (China) on 16 Mar 2013, 1:16 a.m.

I'm a lazy HP48s owner and not willing to DIY the link cable, so I decided to try the IR communication. I use IR650 adapter and IrCOMM2k under XP SP3. Conn4x and PC Connectivity Kit don't work at all. They can't access the COM port. HPKermit works. But it can't communicate with my HP48s. The little icon of IR on the top right screen of HP48 flashes but nothing happened. What can I do? I did search a lot and get some information. But I'm still helpless...

See this document by Christoph Gießelink:

Quoting the conclusion: "The IR transfer with IrDA hardware between PC and HP calculator might work, but because of the many exceptions, explained above, it mostly will fail.".
