TI-Nspire on iPad
Message #1 Posted by Mic on 7 Feb 2013, 1:25 p.m.

Hi, TI released today the TI-Nspire app for iPad : http://www.calc-bank.com/index.php?mod=news&ac=commentaires&id=1832

It is 30$ against 10€ for the HP50g (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hp50g/id553279622?mt=8 ) app but it is a real software specially developed for tablet.

Anyone who charges $30 for an app doesn't GET the micro-payment model. Sheesh!

TI made the "Using the TI-Inspire App for Dummies" file free (how kind) softening the blow of this outrageously priced app. It contains mind-blowing analysis such as: "Wow! This feature is fun and easy to use!"

All that remains is for someone to publish "HP_model#_" for Dummies and the apocalypse will be upon us. Fortunately, dummies don't use HPs as a rule....

Dodging invective....;o)

Unless the PDF download was only a teaser or something, it is the first "For Dummies" book I've seen that is totally worthless.

You could write, and share, programs with it. That's a big no-no in the App Store.

Not paying attention to what the competition is what got hp calculators in trouble the first time. Anyway, hp 41cx+ is the most awesome calc app yet.

I downloaded the HP 50g app not to long ago - and had not a chance to play with it - but the app looks good. Any thoughts?

Thanks to this TI'Nspire message, I have bought the HP50G app. I am using the real hardware HP50G since 5 years and I am glad to have a simulation on my iPad now. Have you seen the really nice i41CX+ app with printing capability etc.? It is an emulation of the HP41CX and more than that. It is not cheap ($24.99), but even a second hand bare HP41CX on eBay will cost 5 times more. The look is almost the same (use the Classic Rectangular skin) but the feel will be different.

Totally agree, Howard. Best emulation out there overall.
