HP200LX Connectivity SW
Message #1 Posted by Luiz C. Vieira (Brazil) on 5 Nov 2012, 9:16 a.m.

Hi, all.

I was asked for the HP200LX connectivity SW - HP F1021C Connectivity Pack - but I have never used it, I have no HP200LX. Is it easy/hard to find? Does anyone know a link to download it? As a last resource, as for a 'no way to download it', if any of you has it and agrees with, please send a copy of it to (or drop me a line about it):

lcvig001 <at> ig dot com . br

Thanks for anything you can do about it.

Best regards.

Olá Luiz,

Please take a look at Franz's link (Message #9) in this thread.

Cheers,

Gerson.

Hi Luiz,

Communication of the 200LX is normal serial, so any serial capture/transmit program should do it. See a thread about a 95LX here: HP 95LX to PC connection on HP forum and here: HP 95LX to PC connection on this forum.

The 95LX uses the same cable as the HP-48S series. The 200LX uses a different connector - the pin details are on p. 26-6 to 26-8 of the user guide: HP-200LX User's Guide

Personally I use a PCMCIA card for data transfer (and programs - I even installed my old Turbo Pascal 5.5 on my 200LX), as I fortunately have a PCMCIA slot on my laptop.

All the best!

Regards,
Bart (UK)

If its just for the connection you may use Kermit (if you have that serial cable). If it is for the software or the installation disks - then the a. m. linkt to Franz may help.

BTW, the software of the communication kit is compiled from the same source as the software on the HP200LX itself (codenamed Felix). There is a 80MB bundle of the sources somewhere, alas not the latest HP200LX version.

What I badly miss in the Communication Pack is the edit/copy - edit/paste from one application to an other. And the Lotus-123 in conjunction with the graphing Calc. :(

The HP200LX was not only a nice PIM at it's time, it is an 'All-You-Need-In-DOS' machine on your palm with a useful keyboard - with a separate number block. IMHO still today 2nd to none.

Ciao.....Mike

I agree, although I have only had mine for about 2 years, I really like it. Wish I had one many years sooner!

Luiz,

when using DOSBox pls. take a look here - it will allow you to print to file (the author claims it will even print to an USB Printer in Win7):

http://superuser.com/questions/96812/using-a-printer-in-dosbox

http://ykhwong.x-y.net/xe/?module=file&act=procFileDownload&file_srl=856&sid=6b0a8c97c3c44059d42f8da5bb1ae451

Example output:

Time Value of Money - case 1
Number of periods............................ N = 120.00
Annual interest.............................. I%YR = 3.50
Present value................................ PV = 100 000.00
Payment...................................... PMT = -791.67
Future value................................. FV = -28 283.74
Payments per year............................ P/YR = 12
Begin/End mode............................... B/E = END
Best regards

Thank you all, guys! (HP200LX Connectivity SW)

Wow!

I sometimes forget how do people answer for request here!

Thanks, folks!

I'll collect these data and send to the guy who asked for it. Will let you how it goes as I have some news.

Best regards.
