[OT] Completely off-topic but couldn't resist
Message #1 Posted by Valentin Albillo on 6 Oct 2012, 12:03 p.m.

Hi, all:

Completely, utterly off-topic but just couldn't resist. This is a joke, right ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toilet_paper_orientation

Notice in particular the equations under "Similar controversies", as well as the preposterous article's length, the 129 Notes, and the equally disproportionate number of References.

I wonder who the authors of this funny mischief are ... XD

Regards from V.

. And that's not all, Luiz, just google for

    toilet paper orientation

and there you are, Google returns about 755,000 references, including Wikipedia, CNET, Science and Technology ones, etc, etc.

8-O ...

... must be some global conspiracy or something ... XD

Have a nice weekend and best regards.

(WTFH...)

Hi, Valentim.

Could not say any better.

BTW, let me see if I am reasoning correctly - as if it is possible to reason correctly about this... So much attention to toilet paper around the globe might actually mean there is much sh... Oops! I guess my reasoning is contaminated so far...

Thanks for sharing, Valentim. It may be an off topic subject, but I am 100% sure any and each one of us here (and elsewhere) knows exactly what is this about. And there's more now to laugh about in this weekend.

8^D

Greetings from Brazil!

It's not so off topic. It reminds me Endian as well as notation :-)

That's right it is really not Off-Topic.

This story reminds me the one of peoples considering that pressing the ENTER^ key pushes the value up or down into the calculator stack!

The subject is very much on topic if you consider that according with this headline of a few days ago: "H-P stock hits 9-year low, down 11%" HP stock in the toilet.

Modern life is complicated. We didn't have to agonize over options like that when all we had was the Sears catalog.

Thanks for that Valentin - hilarious. Especially the Knuth reference.

Of course, "I am highly knowledgeable about this topic (optional)" and have rated this article highly. ;-)

Over or Under isn't the biggest dilemma; the real decision is wad or fold!
