Latest SN of HP35
Message #1 Posted by aj04062 on 27 Sept 2012, 10:16 p.m.

I just picked up a 35 on ebay. I was expecting it for parts, but it does work. Surprisingly, it has a V2 or V3 front layout with a SN starting with 1402S. It has clearly been messed with as the back label has been disturbed, etc.

Any thoughts? I'd expect to see a V4 key layout with a SN this late. When did HP stop making the 35? Did Singapore keep making them this way?

According to Rick Furr's fine poster, the 35 was discontinued February, 1975.

I don't have any hard evidence, but it seems like the Singapore units were a version behind the USA made units, or showed more variability with regard to version vs. serial number.
