HP-28S plays "Happy Birthday"
Message #1 Posted by Kevin F on 6 Aug 2012, 4:53 p.m.

At the 1988 annual/centenial American Mathematical Society meeting in Atlanta, HP 28S calculators were distributed as part of the conference package. This edition has an insignia in on the front cover "American Mathematics...100 Years...1888-1988". At the conference dinner, an HP rep had everyone take out their new 28S and press a key sequence in unison. At that moment the ball-room filled with tiny beeps to the tune of "Happy Birthday", each calculator contributing to the electronic chorus in celebration of the centennial. I still have this calculator at work on my desk. Does anyone know the key sequence to activate the "Happy Birthday" tune? Thanks, -Kevin
