Serial Number Placement
Message #1 Posted by Matt Agajanian on 7 July 2012, 12:32 p.m.

Hello all.

As I have noticed in my collection, only the 35 and 45 have their serial numbers placed inside the battery bay. During which model's production did the serial number placement change to the back of the calculator. Or was it at the introduction of one of the Classics did HP start placing the serial numbers on the back?

Thanks

The HP 65, 70 and 80 also have the s/n inside the battery compartment. A later version of the 65 did move it to the outside.

Well, actually they started with a serial# on the back (with the HP35 red dot) but moved it to the inside (using a larger lettering and differnt sticker) sometimes during the HP35 V2 production.
