[OT] Happy Father's Day! Message #1 Posted by Les Wright on 17 June 2012, 2:17 p.m. I would guess that many of us here are fathers, in many cases grandfathers. So happy day to us all! Seems like a fine day to treat myself to a USB-41 ;) Les

I was indeed referring to the day as it is recognized in Canada and the US. Happy belated day to you and our Spanish father members!

Usually, the day is celebrated by an excursion of the ol' chaps (without family!) and accompanied by huge amounts of beer and schnaps. Don't even know the connection to Ascension Day... In Spain, March 19th commemorates St. Joseph, Virgin Mary's husband and thus Christ's stepfather, so it's been traditionally commemorated as Father's Day as well. Further, it's usually considered an official holiday so people don't go to work that day and can celebrate with their relatives, which is most convenient. Best regards from V.
