They can stop wasting money on teaching evolution too.

Shore The really big shame here is that college football generates untold millions of dollars every year for universities and the "student" athletes see none of this money. The supposedly top notch educations they receive don't even come close to the dollars they generate for their schools. The administrators then get on board with the NCAA and write draconian rules to prevent them from touching a single cent. Makes me wonder when they will drop the ruse of football as a "student" activity and just become professional sport clubs.

Hanson, Jr. on 24 Apr 2012, 10:32 p.m., in response to message #10 by Ethan Conner Many years ago there was an article in the New Yorker about Donna Shalala when she was president of the University of Wisconsin. She did a study of the connection between college athletics (and football in particular) and alumni giving. It showed that alumni who supported the athletics programs also supported non-athletic activities. Alumni who didn't support football didn't support anything else either. Guess which college president decided that her university would strongly support athletics?
