My new kid has arrived! It's a 45!

And to quote Vizzini, "No more rhymes now, I mean it!"

Yes, my HP-45 has come. Beautiful condition with a rugged HP-35/Classic hard case AND soft case too!

And, as per my other inquiry, it has Recall Arithmetic!! Pretty cool!!

And it seems you are spending a lot of bucks recently too!

Well, I've wanted to start my collection for a long time. And, just as well, I've wanted to replace a few that I've retired. Plus, as I've been posting that the LASTx register was lacking in the 35, I've got that, plus a souped up 35 in the 45.

I very much like the 45. It covers most of the functionality you'd expect from a calculator - even today! The stopwatch, lots of memory registers, the gold key as a 'first' on calculators, and especially the constants (like in/cm) are highlights, too :-).

The 45 was my first love; I worked all of the Easter break during my second year at University (1974) just to buy one. It made mincemeat of my engineering assignments - money well spent!

Much later, when I had a 65, I sold the 45 to a colleague, and faintly regretted it ever since.

Best,

Surprisingly the 45 seems to be one of the cheapest HPs to get nowadays. I was looking for a classic for parts the other day - and decided not to buy a very nice 45 for that. Anoyingly it sold for about 50 Euros (should have gone for it anyway, just to have another nice 45). The broken(!) 35 I planed on buying instead went for 40 Euros. So I didn't buy that either.
