A blue HP-50G Has Arrived
Message #1 Posted by Namir on 2 Apr 2012, 3:32 p.m.

I received a blue HP-50G from FL. I bought it on ePay (a nickname for TAS and not a typo). The price was a bit above the regular HP-50G but not outrageously inflated. The packaging is in Spanish and so is the printed manual. How sweet it is :-)

Yeah, and you can even get the O.S. in Spanish.
And the full AUR inside your calculator.
And a better EQNLIB, and ...

But, of course, not by HP - as they haven't done anything for this machine in three years.
And they refuse to update this particular machine which could be done easily and fast.
That's what I said 6 months ago and guess what has happened ... nothing!

Forgive me but, what is TAS? And, a blue 50G? Do you mean that, instead of the black body, the body of the 50G is blue?

TAS - "That Auction Site", unofficial alternate reference to eBay. Direct reference is not banned. (As opposed to TOS for "The Other Site" or "That Other Site", whose real name should not be used out of respect for our host's wishes. If you're unfamiliar, search the archives for TOS.)

Seems like the blue colour schema is for the 50g units marketed outside the US. Or is it that the black body is the only design available currently due to HP discontinuing the blue designs at some point before 2012?

If you want to see a color comparison between both models, see here:

HP 50g Blue

I have seen it only in spanish-Portuguese, but I have been offered it in UUZ (version German, Italian, Dutch and French)

Did you pay for it using BayPal?

Since I own BayPal, this one was on the "house".
