Flip Flap--15C battery bay flaps
Message #1 Posted by Matt Agajanian on 2 Mar 2012, 7:06 p.m.

Hello all. I never bothered to question the point of the clear plastic flaps on the Series 10C's battery bay. After I install the batteries, I'd just leave the flaps so they lay on top of the batteries. What's the purpose of the left/right plastic flaps?

The flaps are battery retainers. If you change batteries (after a decade;-) the flaps will help holding back
the two outer batts while you try prying off the middle one. Similar when inserting new batts.

Thanks for the clarification! So, I'm supposed to sandwich the flaps between the batteries. And all this time, I've put the flaps over the batteries instead of tucking them in.

I think there is either a misunderstanding, or your reply may be meant humorously;-)
The flaps normally have the right size to hold one battery in place each,
so placing the flaps between the batts should be hard to achieve.
